Why I Started My Own Business

I grew up in a middle income normal household with my parents always saying to me “Go to school, get good grades so you can graduate and find a good paying job”, and I did that. Went to high school, studied and got good grades, then to collage, studied and got good grades. When I graduated from collage I moved to El Paso and started looking for a job thinking that I would get a great high-level high paying job, that didn’t happen. Time was passing and couldn’t find a job, month after month after month, application after application after application, and started to think if there was something else other than a job.

So at that time I began to read books about Business, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Self-Employed, Millionaires, and to my surprise found that there was something else that my parents never told me about and that I never learned at school, what I learn was about being the boss instead of having a boss, about being different that the average person and it was ok to have huge dreams and huge goals.

After a few years of looking into being an entrepreneur and building my own business things got a little tough and I decided to look for a job again. It wasn’t an easy decision but I knew that it was going to be only temporary. So I joint the Air Force. I was there for 3 years and got out. Having this job reminded me again that people, rich people have their own businesses, live a dream life, do what they really love, enjoy financial freedom, and started were I am right now, just like me, and this gave me hope again.

It didn’t take me a long time to realize that I needed to go into business for myself again. I joined Primerica two years ago and it’s been great, my business is exploding and we’re growing like never before. I also started investing in real estate with Rich Dad Poor Dad teachings and have an internet based business with Angela Penbrook. Life for me and my family is better than ever, we are on our way to financial independence, I work when I want to and most of it I do it from home. All it takes is a decision to move forward, it’s going to be tough at first paying a price, but the rewards at the end are more than worth all the challenges that I put myself and my family through.

growing up and was a slow to average reader two years ago, looking back it took me a long timeReading is something that I do. I started to enjoy reading not to long ago. I did not read while to read a few pages of a book and got bored quickly because I was reading so slow that after a few pages decided to put the book down and do something else, maybe that's why I didn't enjoyed reading. Then, started to force myself to read something that I found interesting, bought a few books about Real Estate, Business, Leadership and Self-Improvement.

I don't read all the time now, but I enjoy it and have developed a habit in doing it. I would definitely recommend that everyone starts reading something that will help you in the future, and start by setting fifteen minutes aside everyday for reading. Try to find a quiet place, were you can sit down relax and read for fifteen minutes.

Reading helps keep your mind active and developing. I have started 3 businesses in the last 3 years with unbelievable income potential and net worth exploding, developing myself through reading has helped me in this hard, challenging and amazing years dedicated to build my family's Financial Independence, and we are very close.

Creating a Dream Board is something that I have found very useful. A Dream Board is a place were you put together all your goals and dreams that you have for you and for your family. You can do it by cutting pictures out of magazines, pictures like your dream house, dream cars, vacation destinations, business goals, income goals, motivational phrases, family pictures, any anything that you can get that relates to your goals. Get them all together and glue them to a board or wall were you can look at them all the time. The most important part of it is to put your written goals in this board, read them every day so you can focus on them.

You will subconsciously start working towards achieving your written goals and towards obtaining everything that you put on your board. You might not receive it right away but you will definitely get it. This is called the law of attractions, I'm sure you have heard of it before from books like, Power of Your Subconscious Mind, The Law of Attraction, The Secret, Think Like a Winner and others. If you have not heard of this before I recommend you take the time to get these books and read them, they are great!

In summary, remember to write your goals in the present tense (I make..., I have...) this will help you visualize your goals as if you have already accomplished them.
